CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Speaking of Reading
The theme of the Spring 2012 newsletters is Social Justice: Teaching for Change.
If our schools today are to produce truly global citizens, then that puts a heavy responsibility on educators to stimulate critical thinking about the significant issues of the day - war and peace, the environment, global conflict and inequality, issues of gender, race, class, and so on. It's a long list. These newsletters will focus on how we as teachers of literacy and language arts can truly work to ensure our children are able to make a change in the world in which they will grow up.
If you are interested in submitting an article for our readers for the upcoming Spring 2012 Newsletter, please forward your copy (not to exceed 500 words), to eys@readingfortheloveit.com.
Please include all of your contact details and any photos (high resolution images only), that you might like to include.
