There are many ways to get involved with the Reading for the Love of It conference:

  • Become a speaker and share your knowledge of literacy instruction, and teaching strategies

Become a Volunteer Host

Teacher candidates and retired teachers are welcome to volunteer as hosts for the Reading for the Love of It conference. You will have the opportunity to introduce and thank session speakers and oversee the room limit capacity. You will also be able to attend the sessions and visit the exhibits for the day!

The 2026 conference is being held on Thursday, February 19th and Friday, February 20th at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel. If you are interested in assisting at the upcoming conference, please email us at hosts4reading@gmail.com

Become a Speaker

If you are interested in speaking at the Reading for the Love of It conference you must fill out our speaker proposal form. You can submit a proposal at anytime of the year however to be considered for the upcoming conference you must do so before the end of June.

Selection Process

The programme planning committee completes an internal process of reviewing the most recent conference by the end of March. They then present their own research and speaker suggestions along with topics, descriptors, and target audience teaching levels for the next year’s conference. Finally, they review any proposal submissions that are sent in throughout the year. The total process begins mid-March, and the programme is complete by the end of the month of June.

Digital Programme Book Advertisements

The programme book includes a schedule, speaker bios, session details, and an exhibitor list. You can purchase a full page, half page, or quarter page ad.

Mobile Conference App Advertisements

Our app provides a fully interactive conference programme. It’s available to everyone who registers for the conference. You can purchase a banner ad.
