I See What You are Thinking: Using Visuals to Teach Math Literacy

Visuals can help students learn mathematical concepts and solve word problems. In this hands-on session, we will explore how to implement concept circles, (a graphic organizer for visuals!) to enhance math literacy, enrich mathematical vocabulary and engage ALL students in thinking deeply! You will learn how to use concept circles to support students in developing strong mathematical language skills and representing mathematical concepts. You will leave with practical tasks to support student learning in all areas of your math program.
