Description

We want all students to fully engage in the learning and celebration of mathematics. However, many students struggle and have misconceptions of what it is to be a good at math. During this session, I will share how think-alouds, a language-teaching strategy, can enhance student access to rich thinking in mathematics and empower all learners to use their own self-talk to navigate challenges. You will learn what math think-alouds are, and how to use them for teaching key self-talk and thinking strategies in order to help all students experience success. We facilitate think-alouds in language arts, why not use them in mathematics?
