My Life is Art
As a child growing up in South Sudan, Emmanuel Jal witnessed atrocities perpetrated against his family and community which drove him to become a child soldier. Hunger, isolation, and death pervaded his every minute. However, rather than succumbing to the forces of hopelessness and victimization, Emmanuel turned his life’s challenges into opportunities using a framework of 11 Pillars, which he shares in this presentation. Drawing from his remarkable life, former child soldier turned activist, author, entrepreneur, and international recording artist Emmanuel Jal, will provide insights and actionable steps to replace negative narratives with ones that help foster resilience, joy, gratitude and purpose.
