Description

Since 2008, the Journal of Classroom Research in Literacy (JCRL) has been championing the work of teachers and teacher candidates doing classroom-based research in literacy. As an online, peer reviewed, open source journal (OJS/PKP platform), the JCRL has thoughtfully provided a place to share practice-based pedagogies. Creating a bridge between theory and practice in real-world context, this journal supports educators conducting action research as they reflect upon and explore the impact of their ideas/findings. The JCRL’s mission is to showcase the research conducted by school-based educators, to encourage teacher candidates and teachers to conduct classroom-based research, and disseminate the results through this academic online journal.

The JCRL is unique as there is a support network to assist each potential author through each stage of the editorial process. After a submission has been peer reviewed and accepted, it is assigned an editor, and the authors are supported throughout the editing process to final submission. This supervisory support is not only encouraging to teacher-researchers, but provides concrete assistance in creating an APA-styled manuscript to reach a wide audience of educators. Opportunities for ongoing/further contributions are always welcome/encouraged. Would you like to publish your work this June? This exciting writing workshop will focus on exploring your ideas and moving them from the classroom to the online journal platform. During this session, lead editors Carol and Laryssa will be supporting you to further develop and refine your writing, including how to extend the reach of your teaching strategies into a shared educational community of practice. We welcome you to the world of published research!
