Description

Behind almost every confident reader is a teacher and behind many of those teachers is a colleague educator who quietly encourages, questions, and helps to navigate the complexity of teaching literacy effectively and joyfully in today’s classrooms. This workshop is for the coaches, facilitators, and mentors who shape how literacy comes alive in elementary classrooms by guiding other educators.

We’ll delve into the complexities of coaching adult learners, the tensions between content expertise and relational trust, and the moments when leading from beside feels both empowering and precarious. Together, we’ll explore what works, where we get stuck, and how to stay focused on what matters most: honouring the competence, curiosity and perspectives every student possesses to foster confidence in their literacy capabilities as a lifelong asset.

Expect space to ask questions, exchange ideas with peers, and take away practical strategies you can add to your toolkit.
