Equitable Assessment: Challenging Our Assumptions

Presented by Evelyn Paris & Rochelle Matthews

Date, Time, and Room

Friday, February 20, 20261:00 PM – 2:15 PMChurchill (max. 70)

Description

How we assess and evaluate student work says much about our philosophy of education. This workshop seeks to challenge some of our preconceived notions of what is fair and equitable in the classroom when it comes to how, when, and what gets assessed and evaluated. Interactive, learner-centered, and provocative, participants will engage in meaningful conversations about how our implicit biases creep into our instructional and assessment practices, and what we can do to ensure that all of our students’ needs are being met in spite of them.
