Description

Feeling overwhelmed by the constant deluge of information and unsure of what to believe? You’re not alone. Most of us aren’t prepared to navigate this new digital environment in real time, and that includes our students. This workshop provides a practical guide to media literacy, covering essential topics you can implement in your classes immediately. You’ll learn how to understand what’s on our feeds and why, how to identify the different types of misinformation and its common characteristics, and how to use fact-checking and searching strategies to find credible information. By the end of this session, you’ll feel confident in your ability to find and verify reliable information, so you can empower your students to do the same.
