Description

You have stories to tell that no one can tell but you. The crafting of narrative in history, memoir, and in fiction leans on decision-making, imagining, and on craft moves in poetry, essay, and narrative. Formulating precise sentences depends on a steady volume of ungraded practice. In this session we will study instructional moves that lead students to draft in scenes, compress and expand time, and use flashbacks, zooming in, and transitions to create writing that is dazzling. These are essential skills to practice with all writers in any genre. A.I. can easily create sentences, but it falls short of crafting a life—especially yours.
