Description
Would you like to enhance and super-charge the learning experiences and engagement in your classroom?
The focus of this session is the meaningful and deliberate direction of time and space in the classroom to provide an infectious rhythm and enhance the joy of effective teaching and learning for all students including MLL (Multilingual Language Learners). We will examine the practice of expertly managing classroom time by chunking classroom activities and addressing deliberate transitions from one learning experience to the next. We will also explore the use of classroom space, the third teacher, physical movement, and flexible student groupings with practical use-it-tomorrow strategies. All of this will be contained within the JETS (Joy, Empathy, Thinking, Strategies) model of teaching, a model that daily integrates the strands of oral communication, reading, writing and media interpretation for teachers and students. You will walk away from this session with “fresh” activities and resources that will support and enhance your teaching in your space within your time.
