Barbara Reid (she/her/hers)

Barbara Reid is the author and illustrator of more than a dozen award winning picture books, and the illustrator of over thirty including The Subway Mouse, Perfect Snow, Picture a Tree, Picture the Sky and I Love You More by Emil Sher. Story Hunter is her newest book. Barbara’s work has been published around the world, and awards for her unique plasticine artwork include the Governor General’s Award and the Vicky Metcalf Award. Throughout her career she has enjoyed connecting with thousands of young readers, writers and artists in schools, libraries, and virtually. In 2013 Barbara was appointed to the Order of Canada for her contributions to children’s literature and is the Honorary Chair of Family Literacy Day. When not playing with plasticine, Barbara enjoys playing outdoors and looking at the sky.
