Danielle Daniel (she/her/hers)
Danielle Daniel is an artist and award-winning author and illustrator of ten books, writing across genres for readers of all ages. She was a finalist for the 2024 Governor General’s Literary Award for her picture book I’m Afraid Said the Leaf, illustrated by Matt James. Her latest book is a novel-in-verse entitled Reasons to Look at the Night Sky, published by Tundra Books. She is currently working on several picture books, a new middle-grade novel, and the follow-up to her first adult novel, Daughters of the Deer—inspired by the lives of her Ancestors. Born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario, she now lives on Mnidoo Mnis (Manitoulin Island), without a single traffic light, and among a large family of cedars, a husk of hares, and a fifty-year-old Blanding’s turtle who visits quite regularly.
