Heidi Siwak

Heidi is a passionate Canadian educator and Teacher Coach at I-Think, an education charity that began at the University of Toronto, dedicated to helping children and youth become optimistic, confident problem solvers. She leads I-Think’s Artificial Intelligence work and created its Artificial Intelligence Challenge Kit for grades 6-12, where students use empathy-based thinking to imagine how AI can enrich the lives of all students. Before I-Think, Heidi spent 25+ years as a K-8 educator in Ontario championing student voice and agency, and later supported innovation across Ontario’s 72 school boards at the Ontario Ministry of Education. She holds an M.Ed. in Education Leadership and Policy and is deeply committed to responsible, ethical AI in education, empowering students and educators alike to navigate this new terrain thoughtfully. Her work in AI is currently focused on understanding cognitive susceptibilities, maintaining cognitive sovereignty, and human rights. Heidi is a sought after keynote speaker and workshop facilitator at education conferences, school boards, and for Parent Councils across the province.
