Ida Wong (she/her/hers)

Ida Wong is an experienced Literacy Coach with a deep commitment to supporting educators in fostering rich, inclusive, and anti-oppressive literacy practices. With a strong background in curriculum design and instructional leadership, she has presented in a variety of professional learning settings, including staff meetings, New Teacher Induction Program (NTIP) sessions, and Peel Elementary Teachers’ Local (PETL) events. Known for her collaborative approach and expertise in evidence-based literacy instruction, she empowers educators to enhance student engagement and achievement in reading and writing across all grade levels. Her work often incorporates resources such as Cultivating Genius and Unearthing Joy by Gholdy Muhammad.

A dedicated educator with over 20 years of experience teaching students from Kindergarten through Grade 8, Ida has worked extensively in diverse classrooms, enriching the educational experiences of young learners. She supports educators in deepening their practice through the integration of current best practices. With a strong foundation in literacy, she has effectively guided teachers in using data to inform instruction and in developing strategies that improve student outcomes and foster academic growth. Ida has shared her expertise at numerous workshops and remains committed to lifelong learning, continuously seeking innovative ways to inspire and support both students and colleagues alike.
