Joanie Crandall (she/her/hers)
Joanie Crandall is an Assistant Professor at the University of Northern British Columbia. She has been a Grades 6-12 teacher, K-12 instructional coach in literacy, elementary principal, college director, multi-disciplinary research centre coordinator, and consultant. In her travels, she has been exposed to 19 Indigenous languages and is currently learning her ancestral languages of Gaelic and Welsh. Her research is centered in decolonizing education and amplifying Indigenous languages through interdisciplinary, social justice approaches. Her publications can be found through Canadian Scholars Press, Springer, Emerald, IGI, and online journals.
