Kevin Jones (he/him/his)
Kevin heronJones is a novelist, poet, journalist, curator, narrator and lecturer. He has served as Brampton’s 2025 Writer-in-Residence. He studied journalism at Sheridan College and creative writing with U of T. He is the founder of PoeticSoul, an organization dedicated to promoting the poetic arts scene and providing lovers of poetry with quality entertainment. He’s held numerous workshops for students throughout the GTA, providing an interactive introduction to storytelling where students are challenged to create their own prose and oratory creations. He has authored 3 published novels; his youth novel Half-Court Trap is a 2023 Hackmatack Award nominee. His young adult novel Hacking Heartbreak is a starred selection with the CCBC Best Books for Kids & Teens 2025 and the winner of the Sankofa’s Pen Peer Choice Award for Best YA novel 2025. Kevin has also published three books of poetry and has recorded three spoken word poetry albums. He narrates literature through his Listen Fiction platform which is a hybrid audiobook and podcast of short stories. LISTEN FICTION is also a live performance presentation that he tours with.
