Lisa Donohue (she/her/hers)

The author of eight books on various aspects of literacy, Lisa Donohue is passionate about creative solutions and innovative approaches to teaching and learning. Teacher, consultant and now administrator, Lisa focuses on designing student-centered learning environments that meet the needs of diverse learners. Her latest book, “The New Literacy Block”, presents a flexible structure for maximizing instructional time and supporting all students in developing strong literacy skills. Throughout her career, Lisa has championed engaging programs where students discover purpose and authenticity while seeing their identities reflected in their learning. She specializes in helping educators create flexible structures that support whole-class instruction, small-group learning, and targeted interventions based on responsive teaching and ongoing assessment … all within a traditional “100 Minute” Literacy Block.
