Nicole Town (she/her/hers)

A lifelong learner, Nicole (Nikki) Town is a literacy enthusiast and self-proclaimed book nerd. Her love for literacy has motivated her to get creative in her own teaching practice and push the boundaries of language instruction across the curriculum. Although she never fancied herself an author, Nikki was thrilled to have the opportunity to document her passion for literacy and the inventive implementation of a comprehensive and structured literacy program in her collaborative work, The New Literacy Block. This book brings the Science of Reading to life through the meaningful application of instructional strategies that are responsive to today’s learners. Throughout her career, Nikki has been continuously inspired by the students and educators she has had the joy of learning alongside as a teacher and consultant. Her passion continues to grow as she engages in working with teachers to implement planning and assessment strategies to support literacy instruction throughout the elementary years.
