Robin Bright (she/her/hers)

Robin Bright is a professor emeritus from the Faculty of Education at the University of Lethbridge. Robin’s passion for how children develop as readers and writers began early, first as a Modern Languages major in her undergraduate years, and then as an elementary teacher for ten years, before pursuing her PhD and embarking on a career as a researcher, teacher educator, and author. Robin has been recognized with a Distinguished Teacher Award and as a Board of Governors Teaching Chair at the University of Lethbridge. She is the author of several books on language and literacy including, most recently, “Sometimes Reading is Hard: Using Decoding, Vocabulary, and Comprehension Strategies to Inspire Fluent, Passionate, Lifelong Readers” (Pembroke Publishers, 2021). Robin’s current research focuses on educators’ perspectives and beliefs about teaching reading.
