Description
Are you ready to embark on an engaging journey into the world of mentor texts and comprehensive literacy instruction? Join us for a workshop tailored specifically for primary grade educators eager to align their teaching practices with the new Language Curriculum with a particular focus on the Foundations of Language in Section B.
In this workshop, participants will explore how mentor texts can provide rich literacy experiences that cultivate joy through explicit, integrated instruction. Critical thinking and foundational language skills, along with expressive and creative ways to show student learning will nurture a love for literature among the young learners we teach. Mentor texts are powerful tools for modeling and learning foundational language skills. With the recent updates to the curriculum, understanding how to leverage mentor texts effectively has never been more important. We will show you how to take the stress out of planning by aligning numerous expectations with a 5-day structured plan.
