Description

Your early primary students might not all be able to PRINT when they start school in September, but they can all WRITE! Join B.C. author and educator Adrienne Gear as she shares practical ways to help emergent writers develop a positive writer’s identity and “feel” like writers from the first day of school! Building on your work around “story workshop”, Adrienne will outline how she uses a scaffolding approach to encourage all emergent writers to share their stories through talk, drawings, and different kinds of “print”. She will model lessons, share samples, and, of course, recommend anchor books to use in your writing workshop. Come to this session and leave feeling inspired and ready to launch writing with your early learners!
