In a world of endless scrolling through Tik Tok, X, Instagram, YouTube videos, websites, sound bites and images, does reading even matter anymore? In this talk, Dr. Robin Bright argues that understanding how we read, how we learn to read, and how we teach reading is more important than ever. In this session, Robin will consider the role of reading in both childhood and adulthood, in Canada and the global community, in health and wellbeing, in schools and in teacher education, and finally as a declaration of personal freedom.
